Hunter Plant Operator Training School Ltd, trading as HPOTS Training, commenced operations in 1982. Accredited with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) under the guidelines of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). HPOTS Training develops all training in accordance with relevant training packages to enable participants and employers to benefit from the enhanced recognition and portability of Nationally Recognised Training.
- Campus based training at our facility which is located on 700 hectares of rural land in Cessnock. HPOTS training rooms and simulated external training fields provide students with the opportunity to acquire skills relevant to tasks they will need to perform in the workplace. HPOTS provides an external area for simulated practice of skills and practical demonstration of skills for assessment. Considerable time is spent teaching the safe use of all machinery within each program. The safety of self and others is crucial in the skills and knowledge required by all students. The use of videos highlights safety and correct handling techniques is paramount and produces learned and safety conscious operators.

Training occurs in Plant Operations and High Risk programs including Excavator, Dozer, Skid Steer, Forklift, Scaffolding, Rigging, Crane Operations and much more. Our programs are very interactive and allow the student to be actively involved in their learning. Students are encouraged to – learn by doing – and are given extreme amounts of seat time to maximize their performance and ensure their skills grow to a superior level. Under constant supervision we encourage students to show, tell and apply the knowledge learnt in the classroom setting to the simulated work environment we have created for them on our grounds.
