Program Outline

This program will provide the skills and knowledge required to operate a boom-type elevated work platform where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Boom type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

A person performing this work is required to hold a boom-type elevating work platform High-Risk Work Licence.

Prerequisites – There are no prerequisites for this program.

100 points of ID – Participants must provide 100 points of identification to undertake the HRW assessment. More information is available on our policies page

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this program, Participants will have gained the following skills and knowledge:

  • Plan operations.
  • Conduct routine checks.
  • Set up the elevating work platform.
  • Operate the elevating work platform.
  • Shut down and secure the elevating work platform.

Upon successful completion of the Training Program, Participants will receive the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment TLILIC0005 and if successful in the HRW assessment will be able to apply for an HRW Licence through SafeWork NSW.

Fees and Charges

The program fee is $600 per person. This fee includes Training and Assessment and Program material costs.

Safework NSW HRW Licence Application Fee: $75.00 payable at an approved Post Office.

3 Day Program. 7.30am – 3.30pm daily

Day 1 – Presentation, discussion and EWP Operational Activities.

Day 2 – Practical Training, theory review, and Unit of Competency Summative Assessment.

Day 3 – HRW Licence Assessment conducted by a Safework NSW Accredited Assessor.
