Q) Do I need to have a license in NSW to operate earthmoving equipment?

A) In NSW you must be at least 18 yo before you can operate earthmoving equipment.  The controller of the machine must satisfy him or herself that you are competent to operate the machine to carry out the tasks required without risk to your health and safety and that of others.

Q) I have recieved a book and other stuff from you prior to my course.  What should I do with it in the meantime?

A) We forward materials to allow you the opportunity to study the theory section.  If you study this material you can;

  1. improve your chances of gaining your license first try,
  2. reduce your classroom time,
  3. increase your 'seat time' on the machines.

Q)  I only have my red 'P's but the website says I need green 'P's at least to do traffic control.  Can I still do the course?

A)  The RTA applies strict rules about license prerequisites. These can be found here.

Q) Does your course fee include the cost of the WorkCover assessment?

 A) Yes, our fees include the cost of all books and materials and your WorkCover assessment.  In some cases you may need to lodge your application at an Australia Post outlet.  Australia Post charges a fee for this service (currently $65.00).

Q) Why is this training more expensive than other training I have attended?

A) Plant training, when compared to other types of training, has additional costs associated with it.  The cost of maintaining and running expensive machines is included in your training fee.  In addition we keep the numbers of people on each course small.  We do this to provide you more 'seat time' so that you can develop your machine control and operator skills to a higher degree.  You might be interested in gaining a 'ticket' but employers hire operators.  So yes, while some of our courses might appear expensive, you get what you pay for.
