What's covered in the HPOTs Rigging Course ?
A basic rigging course in Australia will allow you to obtain certification and put you on a path to an interesting career. This may help you gain employment because, as industry knows, riggers make things happen! The rigging certification equips you with the skills required to position loads for using a variety of lifting equipment. Common tasks basic riggers complete include erection of steel structures for buildings, installation of construction equipment including crane loading platforms and hoists.
There are many accredited institutions that offer rigging training to people who would like to work in this field. The advantage of a HPOTS training program lies in our instructor's ability to provide industry know how and our small class size. And, our one week course structure means you gain your accreditation sooner.
The course covers basic Australian safety requirements, detailed lifting applications, the installation and use of equipment, and of course, hazard recognition and risk control methods including height safety methods. You get hands on with the equipment and safety systems.
Bear in mind that in Australia you need to hold a Dogging High Risk Licence before you can complete this course. Once you have gained your basic riggers licence you can progress to intermediate rigger, which includes erection of precast tilt slabs, erection of lattice boom cranes and dual crane lifts. Advanced Rigger is the final step in this career path.
