Forklift Training Course: Training & Practical for a Forklift Operator

Enter your name and email address to download our free Activity Logbook . . .

Why do you need to take a forklift training course ? Well for some time itʼs been a legal requirement for operators to be licensed. Since 2009 forklifts have been categorised under the national High Risk Work Licensing scheme. As with any heavy machinery, operating a forklift can be dangerous, particularly when things go wrong and care must be taken.

Forklift operators are much more able to perform their duties safely and efficiently after completing a course and it usually only takes a few days to progress from novice to competent operator.

HPOTs Forklift Training

HPOTS forklift training courses are taught by experienced instructors and include essential topics like:

  • driver safety,
  • risk assessment,
  • pre operational inspections,
  • site assessment,
  • load assessment,
  • operating techniques,
  • and shutdown inspection

After you've practiced operating the forklift to complete a variety of lift and shift tasks, and learned to manoeuvre the machine to get the load where it needs to go, a certified assessor will take you through the test and make sure that you are able to operate the forklift safely.
