Elevated work platform training should be completed by every person who carries out work using platforms. Whether its an awareness or Yellow Card course, scissor lifts or boom lifts under 11 metres, or a high risk work licence course for boom lift over 11 metres, specific training in the safety and operation of these machines is critical for OH&S compliance and for efficiency.

Elevating Work Platforms provide a fast and relatively safe means of accessing equipment at heights, but they are not without their risks. HPOTS Training provides comprehensive training for EWP operators at all levels.

Our programs provide hands-on experience in machine and site inspections, hazard identification and implementation of controls, machine safety and operation including management of common emergency situations and use of safety equipment.

This program will provide you with the knowledge and skill necessary to safely and effectively operate a boom type EWP.   The course meets the licensing requirements for the National High Risk Work Licence 'WP' and  the unit of competency TLILIC2005A - Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more).

Elevating Work Platforms have become an essential tool in many industrial environments because they allow relatively quick, easy access to work sites.  Boom lift EWPs are commonly used in construction, civil construction, electrical installations and repairs and of course electricity distribution where their articulation access to difficult work points.

HPOTS Training are members of the Elevating Work Platform Association of Australia (EWPA) and accredited to train the Yellow Card program.  This program is designed to ensure that operators of scissor lifts and smaller EWPs not requiring National Highh Risk Work Licences have undergone the necessary safety training and competency assessment of their skills.

Scissor lifts are often used for more routine access situations where the articulation of a boom lift is not essential.
